KAMERS / Makers back in Stellenbosch

KAMERS / Makers back in Stellenbosch

It is great news that Stellenbosch is hosting KAMERS / Makers again in 2020. Held at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate from 23 October to 1 November, it is definitely worth the visit.

Since 2003, for lovers of decor, design, fashion, craft, food and wine, KAMERS / Makers is the place to be. There are over 180 makers present at South Africa’s First Artisan-Up Market, with all products made from100% local artisan craftsmanship and exceptional quality.

Here’s some of our favourite Makers:

anine jewelry

Bespoke. Beautiful. Beyond the Ordinary. That adequately describes anine jewelry. With various styles, such as quirky, whimsy and simply, there is something for everyone. You are even able to customize elements of her designs. Each piece is hand-crafted by Anine herself, adding that extra touch – choose between silver, gold-plated and rose-gold. Experience her designs first-hand at KAMERS, or browse her online shop.

Steeped in tradition, Basilei is all about hand-crafted goods – think luxury fudge, baked goods, french nougats and gourmet marshmallows, with unique twists, such as milk tart marshmallows and chocolate & milo fudge. Brothers Marcos and Istvan steer the ship, having learned their craft from their father. After visiting them at KAMERS, why not pop in to their cafe in the Paardevlei precinct for breakfast, lunch, a cup of speciality grade coffee or even a delicious macaron!

Dandelion Handcrafted Tea

Since 2017, Hilke Erasmus sells tea blended by hand, with local, organic and fairtrade ingredients. Dandelion Handcrafted Tea is an excellent choice and eco-friendly. With tea varieties such as Spiced Apple Pie, Calming Chamomile and Buchu, and Roseberry, it is perfect for yourself or as a gift. You can even book a tea tasting experience. Choose from a variety of tea blends, such as Rooibos, Black Tea, and Green Tea.

Lapoplap uses beautiful fabrics to create unique and stylish handcrafted decor and kitchen items. From winter items such as snoods and mittens to linen serviettes, oven gloves and linen cloths, the designs are feminine and floral. A favourite design is the Delft Floral items.

Mies Body Products

Already 10 years old, Mies sells 100% natural body products that are high quality and made in Stellenbosch. Try the most popular scent – the lovely combination of Geranium, Rosemary and Lemon or other scents such as Citronella, Lemongrass, & Eucalyptus. There is a variety of products: candles, coffee scrubs, hand & body lotion, hand & body oil & wash and more.

Don’t miss the Kamers Online shop where you can browse a variety of products with ease.

Open Sunday to Thursday from 9am – 3pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9am – 6pm. Buy your tickets beforehand for R60, or R80 at the entrance – and under 18s get free access. Entry includes a free shopper bag and Consol bottle.
