Just off the Bottelary Road on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, lies a truly unique wine farm.
Hazendal is full of history and tradition. With a long history of different ownership dating from 1699, Hazendal is currently in the hands of Dr Mark Voloshin. With his Russian heritage, Voloshin has created a Russian experience that is fun for the whole family.
To highlight but a few:
For art lovers, there is the Marvol Gallery Here visitors can view some of the owner’s private collection, as well as artistic trends from both South Africa and Russia.
If you feel a bit peckish afterwards, head on over to the Babushka Deli. Here you can enjoy light meals with Russian influence in a bistro-style setting. If you want to take something home, have a look at their variety of wines, jams and olive oils. You can even enjoy a Babushka picnic or partake in a traditional Russian Tea Ceremony – definitely something for the bucket list.
For the kids, enjoy the Family MTB Park, where different bike trails await you. Catering for all levels, this is a fun activity to enjoy as a family. While the adults can enjoy lovely Hazendal wine in the Wine Lounge, kids can explore the magical world of Wonderdal – an edutainment centre that encourages curiosity, learning and play.
No matter what your interest, there’s something for you and the whole family to experience at Hazendal Wine Estate.
