Andre Simon, French wine merchant, gourmet and wine writer (1877–1970)

Paying homage to their heritage, Franschhoek hosts their annual Bastille Festival. The 13th and 14th of July see the sleepy town bustling with locals and tourists, on the quest for the best wine – and the best time.
If you’re up for a challenge, enter the Trail Run early on Saturday morning, or for a more leisurely experience – head over to the Food and Wine Marquee. There an array of award-winning wine estates will have their best reds, wines and MCCs ready to taste and purchase.
Be entertained by live local music, with special artist Karen Zoid, or cheer on the boules competition and barrel-rolling contest.

If you feel inspired to stay a little longer in this French-style village, have a look at our properties on offer in the Franschhoek area.
*If you want to keep your French culture going, remember to tune into the Tour de France this week.
